The student will write a 2–3-page paper comparing and contrasting the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution as well as researching Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptist and its importance in today’s society. Once the student has read these founding documents and Jefferson’s Letter to the Danbury Baptists, answer the question, “What do you think the signers of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution thought about the separation of Church and State or about the separation of God from government?” [Note: these are not the same thing.] The student must incorporate a biblical worldview in the paper and the concepts from the readings in the Martin textbook. The student should use the Course Style Guidelines document for the correct formatting.
