Over the past several decades, there have been debates across the country and globe about academic consistency. In the United States, there is a common thread of academic expectations called the Common Core Standards that provide a framework of grade level expectations by subject area. However, that is just a suggested framework of learning as each state has the ability to adopt or deviate its own standards with the Common Core Standards as a guideline. The issue that consistently remains is how districts and states do not provide a consistent level of standards that are evenly balanced across all states.
