CJUS 321 Discussion 2
Topic: How Does Your Jurisdiction Respond to Juvenile Offenders—What are the Options?
In chapter 1, we learned that different jurisdictions respond to youth crime in different ways. Legal traditions, economic development, cultural values as well as attitudes have shaped the treatment of juvenile offenders. In this discussion identify the various forms of juvenile corrections in your particular jurisdiction and present an analytical discussion of the different programs, the type of offender best served by each program, and your assessment of the success of the programs based on empirical data and research.
